In an ambitious production, the film attempts to push the boundaries and conformities of a typical fashion film. Polack with a background in film, having worked for the likes of Baz Luhrmann and George Lucas uses the canvas to take the viewer on a journey. He listened to the designers thoughts and feelings about their own collections but especially took in, the thoughts they had about todays world affairs, which in most cases influenced the designs they produced.
The outcome, a dark and meditative film which forces the viewer to slow down and question everything. The objective was to echoe the very thoughts of the designers by means of 'feeling'. Be it uneasiness, curiosity, anxiety, uncertainty or just wanting answers, with the finale offering a hint of hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
Polack developed the story, art directed the look, was director of lighting & photography, directed the set and finished off production by editing & grading the film, so that he could retain the strong creative vision he set out to achieve.
An equally hypnotic sound scape, complimented Polack's 'dream' as he once again uses the services of long time collaborator 'Joris Tillmans' to produce a tailored sound that helps transport the viewer in to this multi-faceted existence.
